Service terms
Hosting terms
1. Purpose and services covered
1.1. These terms govern web hosting under WordPress Cloud Hosting (WCH), Business Cloud Hosting (BCH) and WebMonster Managed. They supplement the General terms and conditions, the order and the features communicated at the time of purchase.
1.2. Complimentary static hosting with standalone email and domain parking are governed by sections 9 and 10, with the features specific to those services.
1.3. Email and SMTP are governed by the Email terms, and domain registration and management by the Domain terms. Hosting may be used with domains registered through WebMonster or another provider.
1.4. Managed includes the Business Cloud Hosting (BCH) Core plan, which can be upgraded to a higher BCH plan by paying the difference from Core, under the WebMonster Managed terms. For Enterprise, the individual contract takes precedence. Managed WordPress services and Managed’s additional features are governed by its service terms.
2. Hosting and purchased resources
2.1. The Customer subscribes to the selected plan; in Managed, the subscription covers the entire service package. WebMonster manages the infrastructure and provides the resources and tools included in the plan. Each site has an isolated environment with its own limits, but this does not mean an exclusive physical server or full server administration access.
2.2. WCH allows the number of sites included in the plan. CPU and memory are allocated per site and cannot be pooled or transferred between sites; disk space and monthly data transfer are shared across all sites in the plan and the other uses listed in section 2.4. BCH includes one production site per plan. Managed uses the resources of the BCH plan associated with its website (Core or the higher plan purchased), except for individually agreed Enterprise features.
2.3. Each WordPress installation with its own content counts as a separate site. Multiple production installations within one environment are not permitted. WordPress Multisite is not supported. Aliases and redirects to the same site do not count as additional installations.
2.4. In WCH and BCH, including hosting within Managed, space is shared by the plan’s files, databases, staging environments and email. Monthly data transfer also applies to the plan as a whole. Backups in the included backup system do not count towards storage; copies the Customer stores within the hosting do.
2.5. Upgrades must be purchased in advance. Increasing disk space, data transfer or the number of sites does not increase each site’s CPU or memory unless that upgrade is purchased. Excess usage does not trigger automatic paid upgrades.
2.6. Features for the purchased period are those recorded at the time of purchase. Changes are governed by the general terms; updating the catalogue does not, by itself, change them.
3. Usage limits and infrastructure protection
3.1. Reaching a site’s technical limits may cause slowdowns, errors or restrictions on execution. WebMonster will explain the options for reducing usage or increasing resources.
3.2. Storage and monthly data transfer operate as soft limits: slightly exceeding the allowance does not automatically suspend the service. When excess usage needs to be addressed, WebMonster will notify the Customer and allow at least seven calendar days to reduce it or purchase an available upgrade.
3.3. If storage usage exceeds the purchased allowance by more than 10 GB, automatic restrictions or service suspension may apply for security reasons. Traffic will be blocked automatically if monthly data transfer exceeds the plan allowance by more than 200 GB. It will be restored at the start of the next monthly measurement period or when a plan change or add-on brings usage within the allowance. These courtesy margins are not free increases to the purchased quotas.
3.4. Urgent measures may also be taken where there is a specific risk to system security or stability. WebMonster will limit the measure to the responsible service or process where technically possible, explain the reason and restore the service once the cause is resolved. Outside urgent cases and section 3.3, it will respect the remediation period before restricting or suspending the service for excess usage.
3.5. Scheduled tasks (cron jobs) must stay within allocated resources. WebMonster may limit tasks causing excessive usage or a risk to systems and explain the measures needed to correct them.
4. Tools and compatibility
4.1. WCH includes one staging environment per site. BCH includes two staging environments per site. They use the plan’s disk space and data transfer allowance and cannot be used as additional production sites. The system may enforce username-and-password protection through HTTP Basic authentication on staging sites. For Managed, the available staging environments are those stated at the time of purchase.
4.2. Cloning, restoring or publishing may overwrite data. The Customer must check the source, destination and scope before proceeding. When WebMonster performs these operations on the Customer’s behalf, it will explain their effects and follow the instructions received.
4.3. The Customer must use the purchased tools and access within their permissions, without altering other environments or infrastructure reserved for WebMonster.
4.4. The Customer must keep WordPress, themes and plugins up to date and hold the necessary licences, unless WebMonster has been engaged to perform those tasks. They must use versions compatible with the hosting’s software and resources. PHP versions are governed by sections 4.7 to 4.11. Withdrawal of other tools will be announced with a reasonable adjustment period under the general terms, except for urgent security needs or legal requirements.
4.5. Automatic issuance and renewal of Let’s Encrypt certificates is included for compatible, correctly configured domains. The Customer must cooperate where issuance requires changes to DNS or access under their control.
4.6. PHP’s mail() function is disabled. Applications can send email through SMTP, including the hosting’s SMTP service, under the Email terms. The standard service does not allow spam, bulk campaigns, marketing emails or newsletters.
4.7. WebMonster supports the PHP versions available on its platform while they receive official security support from the PHP project. Once that ends, the version is no longer supported and is phased out according to the notified schedule. Temporary availability during transition does not constitute extended security support. WebMonster does not offer indefinite maintenance of end-of-life (EOL) or unpatched PHP versions as a standard service.
4.8. WebMonster will notify affected customers of the planned withdrawal date at least sixty calendar days in advance by email or another durable medium. From that notice, the version being withdrawn will no longer be available for manual selection by the Customer.
4.9. Thirty calendar days before withdrawal, WebMonster will send a second notice to customers whose sites still use that version. On the announced date, affected sites will automatically switch to the PHP version recommended by WebMonster at that time.
4.10. Changing PHP version does not guarantee that an older website will be automatically compatible and may affect its operation. The Customer must prepare WordPress, plugins, themes and custom code for the target version before withdrawal, unless a purchased service covers those tasks. Additional updates and adaptations are governed by sections 8.6 and 8.7.
4.11. WebMonster may change available PHP versions for security, compatibility or platform maintenance reasons, under the general terms and the withdrawal schedule above. If a security risk requires urgent action or a legal requirement prevents compliance with those periods, it may act earlier, explaining the reason and effects as soon as possible. A scheduled end of official support does not, by itself, create an exception to the notice period.
5. Security and incidents
5.1. WebMonster applies the security measures included in the service to prevent and contain incidents. These measures do not guarantee the absence of vulnerabilities or replace maintenance of the Customer’s web applications.
5.2. Security systems may block requests or addresses and automatically quarantine suspicious files, which may affect the site. The Customer can ask support to review a false positive. WebMonster will review the measure without reactivating elements while a substantiated risk remains.
5.3. In WCH and BCH, malware assistance is limited to basic diagnosis, guidance and restoring an available backup where appropriate. Manual cleaning and updates performed by WebMonster are quoted separately unless included in another purchased service.
5.4. Restoring a backup does not necessarily fix the cause of an infection or guarantee that the backup is malware-free. Vulnerabilities and compromised credentials must be addressed. In Managed and, where purchased, WebMonster Care, the security and cleaning work included in their respective service terms applies.
6. Backups and restoration
6.1. WebMonster includes the following backup service at no additional cost while hosting is active:
- WCH: backups every twelve hours, retained for thirty days.
- BCH: backups every six hours, retained for thirty days.
- Managed: backups every six hours, retained for thirty days, plus a secondary daily system with sixty-day retention.
6.2. Backups cover hosted files and databases, and email under its service terms. They do not include data stored exclusively in external services or on the Customer’s devices. Retention runs from each backup and does not guarantee availability after subscription cancellation or deletion of hosted items, whose effects are governed by sections 11 and 12.
6.3. WebMonster schedules backups at the stated frequency and makes reasonable efforts to ensure they complete and can be restored. Occasional failures may prevent a backup from being created, retained or recovered. There is no guarantee that every run will succeed or that all data can be recovered in every circumstance. Backups are not continuous and do not capture every change instantly.
6.4. WCH, BCH and Managed include on-demand backups and restoration through the control panel. Assistance with a standard restoration is included in WCH, BCH and Managed. Secondary backups may require manual intervention.
6.5. Restoration may overwrite changes made after the selected backup. Special reconstruction or merging of data may be quoted separately under section 8.3.
6.6. The Customer is advised to keep an independent copy of important information. Included backups reduce the risk of data loss but do not eliminate it.
7. Incoming migrations
7.1. Initial migration to WebMonster of the WordPress sites and email covered by the plan is included. The Customer must have the necessary authorisations and provide sufficient access or copies.
7.2. Standard migration covers transfer of compatible files and databases, their configuration on the hosting and the usual checks. Email migration is governed by its service terms.
7.3. WebMonster will coordinate the migration and precautions with the Customer. The Customer must keep the source service and access available until checks are complete. Activity during the move may require a temporary interruption or final synchronisation to preserve recent changes.
7.4. Repairs, malware removal, reconstruction or special adaptations will be quoted separately when not included in the purchased service. Managed’s included setup and cleaning features will be respected under its service terms. If a standard migration is not feasible, WebMonster will explain why and outline the alternatives before doing additional work.
7.5. Migration does not cancel the previous service or transfer the domain registration. The Customer may also migrate independently or through an authorised third party.
8. Support and permitted use
8.1. Support covers hosting enquiries and incidents, and basic WordPress assistance. Theme, plugin or integration issues will be handled within that scope, without guaranteeing a solution to every incompatibility.
8.2. Hosting does not include proactive maintenance, manual updates, design changes or bespoke development. Managed adds the features of its selected plan. If the Customer purchases WebMonster Care, the updates, security work and additional backups in its service terms are added, without extending hosting support beyond that scope.
8.3. Additional work requires prior disclosure and acceptance of its cost. Included features and remedies for breaches attributable to WebMonster will not be charged as extras.
8.4. The Customer must have the rights or permissions needed for hosted content, including websites, complimentary hosting and parking. The prohibitions in the general terms apply, including pornography, betting and online gaming. Hosting must not be used as a repository for files unrelated to hosted websites, an anonymous sharing platform, a file-sharing tracker or a bulk distribution service that has not been purchased.
8.5. Agencies and professionals may manage their clients’ websites within the plan’s capacity and with their authorisation. This does not, by itself, include reseller or white-label features.
8.6. The WebMonster Pros One-off Consultation is part of WebMonster Pros and available exclusively to WCH and BCH customers. After assessing a request, WebMonster may propose it for brief enquiries or one-off changes beyond standard hosting support, without requiring an hour package. It may include updating WordPress, plugins and themes to prepare a website for a supported PHP version where the case fits that scope. The included work and total price, with applicable taxes, will be specified before purchase and must be accepted by the Customer. Paid Pros work will not be proposed for tasks already included in WebMonster Care or another service purchased for that website.
8.7. If the expected complexity or time exceeds a WebMonster Pros One-off Consultation, WebMonster will propose a WebMonster Pros hour package. If the Customer purchases it to continue the same work, the amount already paid for the consultation will be deducted from the package price and the time already spent from its hours. The remaining amount and available hours will be disclosed before purchase. Bespoke code changes and development work must be purchased through the appropriate package under its service terms. Work will not be expanded or a package charged without the Customer’s prior acceptance.
9. Complimentary static hosting with standalone email
9.1. Standalone email includes hosting for one static site, without PHP or databases, with 50 GB of monthly data transfer. Its files use the email plan’s storage.
9.2. This service does not include WordPress, staging, application maintenance or migration of dynamic websites. Backups and restoration are governed by the Email terms.
9.3. Increasing storage on the entry-level email plan requires moving to a higher plan. Storage add-ons are available for higher plans that support them and must be purchased in advance.
9.4. Static hosting depends on the email service it belongs to. The security, use, data access and cancellation rules appropriate to its features apply.
10. Domain parking
10.1. Domains purchased through WebMonster include a customisable default page or a redirect. Parking requires a valid, correctly configured domain and does not include general-purpose file hosting, WordPress, email, databases or hosting-plan backups.
10.2. WebMonster’s parking template is not provided as a downloadable website or one transferable to another provider. The Customer may retain their own text and images supplied for it.
10.3. Expiry, transfer or cancellation of the domain may end parking or redirection. Domain timescales and management are governed by its service terms.
11. Data access and switching provider
11.1. The Customer can access their files, databases, email and DNS records, according to the services purchased, to obtain copies and transfer them through the available methods for each data type. Other Customer data whose delivery is legally required will also be provided.
11.2. General credentials, other customers’ data, proprietary platform code and WebMonster’s internal management, billing or security systems are not provided. These exclusions will not prevent the Customer from obtaining their own data. Transfer of third-party licences depends on their terms of use; the parking template is governed by section 10.2.
11.3. The Customer may request help accessing their data and preparing a move to another provider or their own infrastructure. WebMonster will provide reasonable assistance, explain known risks and maintain security and the purchased service during transition. Installing and configuring the Customer’s website or email with the destination provider on their behalf is not included, except for actions legally required to facilitate switching.
11.4. Requests to switch to another provider or the Customer’s own infrastructure will use the usual channels in the general terms. Where Chapter VI of the Data Act applies, no additional minimum notice period is required. Transition will take place without undue delay, within thirty calendar days of the request or a later start date specified by the Customer. If technically unfeasible, WebMonster will explain why within fourteen working days and specify an alternative period of up to seven months. The Customer may extend the transition once for a period they consider appropriate, in accordance with the Regulation.
11.5. Where the Customer requests termination of their subscription through the switching procedure in section 11.4, the transferred service’s contract ends when that procedure is completed, and WebMonster will confirm cancellation and its effective date.
11.6. Where the Customer chooses to end the subscription with deletion of hosted data, section 12 applies: deletion takes place on the chosen cancellation date and subsequent recovery through backups is not guaranteed. For switches subject to Chapter VI of the Data Act, WebMonster will retain the Customer’s exportable data and digital assets and allow retrieval for at least thirty calendar days after the transition period ends, even if the subscription has ended, provided the Customer has not deleted those files or requested cancellation with data deletion. Delivery does not require keeping the website online or renewing the subscription. Once switching is complete and that period, or a longer agreed period, has ended, deletion will proceed under section 12.7. A cancellation request does not waive mandatory retrieval periods.
11.7. There is no charge for switching, standard data delivery or reasonable assistance owed. Fees remain payable for service provided during transition, with settlement under the general terms and the law. Reconstruction of previously deleted data or special adaptations for the destination may be quoted separately where they exceed WebMonster’s obligations.
11.8. The destination may require configuration changes or licences and may not reproduce all WebMonster functions. Any statutory interoperability and functional-equivalence obligations applicable to the service remain in place.
12. Subscription cancellation, deletion and recovery
12.1. Subscription cancellation should preferably be requested through the form in the customer area. Submitting it registers cancellation and disables renewal, without manual approval or a second step. The Customer chooses immediate cancellation or cancellation at the end of the billing cycle; giving a reason is optional. Before confirmation, they will be told when the subscription’s websites, databases and email will be deleted so they can save their data. WebMonster will confirm the request and effective date. Cancellation may also be requested through [email protected] or a support request, subject to the manual-handling deadlines and effects in section 7.2 of the general terms.
12.2. With immediate cancellation, the Customer requests and accepts deletion of the websites, databases and email included in the subscription. When cancellation is carried out, they are removed from the active service and renewal is cancelled. With end-of-cycle cancellation, the Customer requests and accepts the same deletion on the due date: the subscription stays active until then, data is deleted on that date and it does not renew.
12.3. The Customer can create and delete websites, email accounts and databases within their plan’s limits using the available tools. Confirming deletion immediately deletes the selected item and the associated data identified by the operation. Its scope will be shown before confirmation so the Customer can save a copy. These management actions do not cancel the subscription or its renewal.
12.4. If the Customer does not request subscription cancellation and the renewal invoice is unpaid, hosted data is not deleted on the due date. If non-payment continues for thirty calendar days from that date, WebMonster cancels the subscription and deletes the included websites, databases and email, following the notices in the general terms. During that period, the service may be suspended under those terms.
12.5. The Customer must obtain any data they want to keep before the requested deletion date. No additional recovery period is guaranteed after that deletion. Where applicable, the retrieval period in section 11.6 and other mandatory delivery or retention rights will be respected. A subscription cancellation notice that does not specify what should happen to the data will be clarified with the Customer, without assuming an instruction for immediate deletion.
12.6. Recovery of deleted websites, email accounts, databases or other items may be impossible. If a usable copy remains and recovering it requires exceptional work, WebMonster may quote for it beforehand, without guaranteeing the result. This does not turn included restorations or required data delivery into chargeable extras.
12.7. Deletion affects hosted content. Remaining backups will be deleted under the Data processing agreement and legally applicable periods, without keeping them for ordinary use or indefinitely.
13. SLA, guarantee and data protection
13.1. Availability and compensation are governed by the Service level agreement. Complimentary hosting and parking are covered only if the SLA expressly includes them.
13.2. The commercial thirty-day guarantee applies to standalone WCH and BCH hosting and Business Email under the general terms. Complimentary static hosting is part of the email plan, with no separate refund for that component. The guarantee does not cover WebMonster Care or Managed, even proportionally, or domains because they include parking. Purchasing Care does not remove any guarantee applicable to standalone hosting.
13.3. Processing on the Customer’s behalf is governed by the Data processing agreement. Liability, contractual changes, complaints and statutory rights are governed by the general terms.
